This piece was a waiting game. It was 6 a.m. on Two Harbors on Catalina Island and overcast, so I drew it out and premixed my color and waited for the right moment. As it turned out, the sun broke with cracks of light streaming across the mountain top, but color in the shadows was the most interesting part of the scene.

This is a 14" x 18" original oil painting and comes in a gallery style wood frame.
