I painted this from a plein air piece I did on site on a cold winter morning outside the famous Loretto Chapel in beautiful Old Town Santa Fe, New Mexico. The snow was falling and everything was so peaceful (but oh so cold)! The Chapel is known for the Miraculous Staircase which has two 360 degree turns with no visible means of support.
