I chose this spot to paint on Catalina Island because of the unique vantage point where I could capture both the arch and pier in Avalon, Catalina which are both quintessential parts of the island. I caught it at just the right time where the light was coming through the trees like this.

This was done on site en plein air and is a 9”x12” original oil painting.
