Stunned by its size and majestic beauty, I was drawn to this cliff formation in Northern California at Moonstone Beach in Humboldt County. Packing up my gear and hiking through thick wet sand I set up behind the shadows of the mountainous terrain to paint this scene. I had just enough time before the sun washed over my canvas.
